Barber Field

A regional airport with large responsibilities, the La Ronge Airport is aiming to build on its past legacy of service to the north, while looking forward to a bright and sustainable future as the aviation hub of Northern Saskatchewan.

Instructions

This is the La Ronge Airport “Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit” (AVOP) on-line program. It is administered by the Airport Manager (APM). No person may operate a vehicle on airside of the La Ronge Airport unless they have a current La Ronge Airport AVOP or have received special permission (with restrictions) from the APM for temporary access. AVOPs are valid for 3 years before renewal is required. Here you will find the material and instructions for the Restricted AVOP, the Unrestricted AVOP or the Special Permissions AVOP programs. Please choose the appropriate tab below.

An Unrestricted AVOP is required to operate a vehicle airside on non-maneuvering and maneuvering areas. Successful completion of an Industry Canada Restricted Radio Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualifications is required for an Unrestricted AVOP. Clicking on the button below will open the Unrestricted AVOP course material in a new tab. You may view the material as many times as you would like. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate through the material. When you are ready to take the exam make arrangements with the APM or designated instructor. You will also be required to pass a practical examination at the airport (as arranged with the APM or designated instructor).
